Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Vice President of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic have visited a mining and processing plant in Zhytomyr region.

Shmyhal wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

"Together with Vice President of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic, we visited Zhytomyr region and inspected the production of Irshansk Mining and Processing Plant of JSC United Mining and Chemical Company," Shmyhal wrote.

He added that Ukraine aims to ensure the extraction of its own raw materials and create capacity for its processing and enrichment within the country.

The Prime Minister reminded that the United Mining and Chemical Company would be the first object of large-scale privatization. This will give an impetus for attracting investments in the field of subsoil use.

As reported, Vice President of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic arrived in Ukraine on July 12. On July 13, Shmyhal and Sefcovic will take part in the first High-Level Conference on Critical Raw Materials.
