Government expects economic growth to be more than 4% by year-end

The Cabinet of Ministers expects that the Ukrainian economy will grow by more than 4% by the end of 2021, according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"In the second quarter of this year, after the improvement of pandemic situation, we see better growth rates in all sectors of the economy. In general, the government's forecast for the year remains unchanged, the economy is expected to grow by more than 4%," Shmyhal said at a government meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the prime minister, investment and increased investment activity are among main factors that can promote economic growth.

"The adopted law on state support of investment projects with significant investments has already received positive feedback from businesses. The government continues to improve the regulatory framework so that this law on investment can to become truly effective,” Shmyhal said.

He also reminded that a large-scale privatization in Ukraine would begin this summer.
