This was discussed at a meeting between Energy Minister of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko and Head of the EIB Representation in Ukraine Jean-Eric de Zagon, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reports.

As noted, hydrogen energy, energy efficiency and hydropower projects are among the promising areas of interest for joint implementation by the Ministry of Energy and the EIB.

"We are working to update the energy strategy, taking into account new goals and challenges facing Ukraine. These include the European Green Deal, the transformation of coal regions, the introduction of new energy storage technologies, etc.," the minister stressed.

According to him, the Ministry of Energy is currently working on the implementation of transparent rules in the electricity market to make it more predictable and confidently achieve synchronization of the Ukrainian power system with ENTSO-E.

As reported, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that synchronization with the European network ENTSO-E would open additional prospects for the development of green energy in Ukraine.
