Kuleba, Di Maio open Ukrainian-Italian business forum

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Italian Foreign Luigi Di Maio have opened the Ukrainian-Italian business forum, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The Covid-19 pandemic has dealt a severe blow not only to the people but also to the countries' economies. However, trade between Ukraine and Italy continues, and we want to increase it even more. That is why today we are creating an opportunity for Ukrainian and Italian companies to establish new business ties, sign new contracts, and discuss new promising projects for development," Kuleba said.

He assured Ukrainian businesspeople present at the forum that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, through the mechanism of the Council of Exporters and Investors, was ready to provide them with maximum assistance in entering foreign markets.

Di Maio, in turn, said that restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic had to some extent affected the economic relations between Italy and Ukraine.

"We need to develop both economic and financial cooperation. Today we came together aware of the importance of this and with hope for economic recovery," Di Maio said.

Di Maio is on an official visit to Ukraine on June 10.
