NBU determines list of critical infrastructure facilities in banking system

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has determined a list of critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine's banking system, the NBU's press service has reported.

Such powers are provided to the NBU by the law of Ukraine "On Basic Principles of Ensuring Ukraine's Cybersecurity." The critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine's banking system include banks, the sustainable operation of which ensures the stability of the banking system, is essential for the economy and security of the state, the functioning of society, and which are of significant public interest.

In particular, the issue concerns banks that have been included in the list of systemically important banks, as well as banks in which the state directly or indirectly owns a share of more than 75% of the authorized capital.

According to these criteria, the NBU determined the following critical infrastructure facilities in the banking system: the National Bank of Ukraine, Ukrgasbank, Bank Pivdenny, PrivatBank, A-Bank, Alfa-Bank, OTP Bank, Oschadbank, FUIB, Raiffeisen Bank Aval, TAScombank, Ukreximbank, Ukrsibbank, Universal Bank.

The criteria and procedure for classifying Ukrainian banks as being part of critical infrastructure in Ukraine's banking system have been defined by NBU Board resolution No. 151 "On Approval of the Regulation on Determining Critical Infrastructure Facilities in Ukraine's Banking System" of November 30, 2020.
