Ukraine interested in developing trade and economic cooperation with South Africa

Ukraine expects that the development of relations with the Republic of South Africa will contribute to expanding the presence of Ukrainian products throughout the region of the South African Community.

Ukrainian Economy, Trade and Agriculture Development Deputy Minister - Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka said this following his visit to the Republic of South Africa, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Economy Ministry’s press service.

"Ukraine is interested in further developing relations with South Africa in the trade and economic sectors and increasing bilateral trade. We consider it promising for both countries to increase exports of Ukrainian agricultural and industrial products to the South African market. It is important for us to deepen relations at the level of business circles, hold B2B meetings and conclude relevant agreements on cooperation at the intergovernmental level,” Kachka said.

He stressed that Ukraine considers the Republic of South Africa not only as a promising market, but also as a hub that could contribute to expanding the presence of Ukrainian products throughout the region of the South African Community.

It is noted that the working visit of the Ukrainian delegation led by Deputy Minister Taras Kachka was combined with the trade mission of Ukrainian entrepreneurs, which was organized by the Ukrainian Business and Trade Association.

Representatives of the Ukrainian delegation met with the heads of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Competition of South Africa and the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development of South Africa. Ukrainian officials also joined related events, including meetings with heads of diplomatic missions of South Africa accredited in Pretoria, meetings with representatives of the South African Business Association, a business event at the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, etc.
