Ukraine planning to develop river tourism – Information Policy Ministry

Ukraine is planning to develop the potential of river tourism, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.

"The Dnipro River has a huge potential, which is currently used by about 10%. Wonderful hills and tourist locations along the Dnipro together with the organization of quality transport services could become an interesting tourism product not only for domestic but also for foreign tourists,” said Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy Larysa Petasiuk at an online meeting dedicated to the development of river tourism in Ukraine.

She added that the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, State Agency for Tourism Development and Ministry of Infrastructure have launched joint activities to resume such routes and their quality content.

As reported by Ukrinform, as part of the reform of river transportation and the restoration of inland waterways, this year the Ministry of Infrastructure is considering the possibility of launching tourist routes along the Dnipro River on the Kyiv-Kaniv and Kyiv-Chornobyl river routes.
