Ukraine resumes poultry meat exports to EU – Kachka

Ukraine resumes poultry meat exports to the European Union, suspended in the winter due to an outbreak of bird flu, Ukrainian Economy, Trade and Agriculture Development Deputy Minister - Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka has stated.

“Highly pathogenic avian influenza cases were recorded in Ukraine in the winter months. For the period of detecting these cases, exports were suspended... It only took a few weeks and export deliveries were resumed," Kachka wrote on his Facebook page.

He noted that the rapid recovery of exports is a sign of normal, high-quality and friendly cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, which is provided by the Economy Ministry and the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

As reported, on January 23, Ukraine’s State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection announced the suspension of poultry meat exports to the European Union due to an outbreak of bird flu.
