Finance Ministry raises UAH 14.3B to state budget from government bonds’ sale

On March 16, 2021, the Ukrainian Finance Ministry raised UAH 14.3 billion towards the state budget as a result of auctions on the placement of domestic government bonds, the Finance Ministry wrote on its Facebook page.

“As a result of auctions, UAH 14,307 million in equivalent was raised to the state budget," reads the report.

At the auctions, the Finance Ministry offered investors six issues of hryvnia-denominated bonds, with a maturity of 3 months, 1 year, 1.5 years, 2 years, 3 years, 6 years and one issue of foreign currency-denominated bonds, with a maturity of 1 year.

Following the auctions, UAH 10,051 million was attracted to the state budget from the placement of hryvnia-denominated bonds. An average weighted yield on 3-month bonds was 8.33%, 1-year bonds - 10.74%, 1.5-year bonds - 11.08%, 2-year bonds - 11.80%, 3-year bonds - 12.05%, and 6-year bonds – 12.50%.

USD 154 million was obtained from the placement of foreign currency-denominated bonds. The weighted average yield was 3.7%.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Finance Ministry attracted UAH 5.23 billion to the state budget following auctions on the placement of domestic government bonds on March 9, 2021.
