UAH 562B in taxes collected in Kyiv city last year – Klitschko

In 2020, UAH 562 billion of taxes were collected in the city of Kyiv, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

"In 2020, UAH 562 billion of general and special taxes were collected on the territory of the city of Kyiv. We were left with only UAH 49 billion. Moreover, only UAH 8 billion was received from the state budget. Frankly speaking, the city of Kyiv forms the state budget, and we need fair conditions for the formation of the capital's budget," Klitschko said at a meeting of Kyiv City Council on March 11.

As reported, Kyiv City Council appealed to the president of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers on the fair distribution of personal income tax for the capital. Now, according to the Budget Code, the capital transfers 60% of funds from personal income tax to the state budget, while other cities give about 40% of revenues from this tax.
