Consumer prices in February grew by 1% - State Statistics Service

Consumer prices in Ukraine in February 2021 grew by 1.0% compared to the previous month, according to the State Statistics Service.

Consumer prices in February 2021 grew by 1.0% compared to January 2021, and by 7.5% compared to February 2020. In January-February 2021, prices on the consumer market rose by 6.8% compared to the same period last year.

Core inflation in February 2021 was 0.5% compared to January 2021, 0.8% compared to the beginning of the year.

Among consumer goods and services in February 2021, the highest rise was registered in the prices for eggs (by 84.5%), sugar (by 61.7%) and natural gas (by 44.6%).

From February 2020 to February 2021, the highest decrease was recorded in the prices for vegetables (by 7.4%), clothing (by 5.5%) and footwear (by 17.8%).

As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, consumer prices in February 2020 decreased by 0.3% compared to January 2020, grew by 2.4% compared to February 2019. In January-February 2020, consumer inflation came to 2.8% compared to the same period last of the previous year. Core inflation in February 2020 reached -0.1% compared to January 2020, and -0.3% compared to the beginning of 2020.
