Pensions will grow by 11% from March 1 – PM Shmyhal

From Monday, March 1, 2021, pensions for eight million citizens of Ukraine will grow by 11%, according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"Pensions for eight million Ukrainians will increase by 11%. The average growth will be UAH 300," Shmyhal wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers continues to develop programs of additional support. For example, last year people aged 80 and older started receiving a monthly additional payment of UAH 500. This year people aged 75 and older will start receiving a monthly additional payment of UAH 400.

"The government has also submitted a bill that will clearly define the automatic indexation of pensions on March 1. Another step towards fair and decent pensions in Ukraine will be the introduction of an accumulative system, on which the Government and the Parliament are now actively working,” the prime minister added.

As Ukrinform reported, on February 22, 2021, the government approved a resolution “On additional measures for social protection of pensioners in 2021.” The resolution provides for the indexation of pensions from March 1, 2021.
