Yenin, Chinese ambassador discuss increase in bilateral trade

Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Yenin met with Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine Fan Xianrong to discuss an increase in trade between the two countries, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service has reported.

"The interlocutors discussed further intensification of strategic partnership between Ukraine and China, deepening of political dialogue, in particular holding the next round of political consultations between the two Foreign Ministries, as well as developing inter-parliamentary and interregional cooperation," the statement reads.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues of countering COVID-19 and vaccination.

As a reminder, for the second year in a row, China has become the biggest trade partner of Ukraine. In 2020, trade turnover between Ukraine and China was USD 15.4 billion (+25%). Exports of goods from Ukraine to China amounted to USD 7.1 billion (+98%), while imports of Chinese goods to Ukraine totaled USD 8.3 billion.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukraine and China will strengthen trade and economic cooperation, including interaction in industry and agriculture.
