NBU to stress test 30 banks in 2021

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has determined the list of banks that will undergo stress testing in 2021, the central bank’s press service reports.

Resilience assessment will be carried out as of January 1, 2021. It provides for asset quality review (AQR) for all banks and additional stress testing for a certain list of banks. This year's resilience assessment will be focused on the state of banks' assets after the acute phase of the coronacrisis. Particular attention will be paid to restructured loans and the quality of real estate valuation.

In 2021, 72 out of 73 institutions that have banking licenses will be the objects of asset quality review (apart from Settlement Center Bank, which performs only settlement operations).

Apart from asset quality review, the stress testing in 2021 will cover the following 30 banks, accounting for 90% of banking system assets: PrivatBank, Oschadbank, Raiffeisen Bank Aval, Ukreximbank, Ukrgasbank, Alfa-Bank, Sberbank, UkrSibbank, OTP Bank, Credit Agricole Bank, ProCredit Bank, Kredobank, Idea Bank, Pravex Bank, Forward Bank, FUIB, Pivdennyi Bank, TAScombank, Universal Bank, Bank Credit Dnepr, Bank Vostok, Megabank, A-Bank, MTB Bank, Industrial Bank, Investments and Savings Bank, Bank Alliance, Bank Lviv,  Globus Bank, and Accordbank.
