In 2020, Odesa International Airport provided air services to almost 700 thousand passengers, which is 58% less than in 2019, Ukrinform reports referring to the airport’s press service.

"In 2020, Odesa International Airport provided services to 698,000 people, passenger traffic decreased by 58% compared to 2019, and 9,332 flights were serviced," reads the report.

The airport management explained that passenger traffic decreased sharply due to the introduction of quarantine measures in Ukraine to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the same time, Odesa Airport was the first among regional aviation enterprises in the country to resume work after the lockdown. In addition, new flights were launched from Odesa to Bologna, Bergamo, Rome, Dusseldorf, Lviv and Istanbul.
