Ministry of Culture to suggest creating council for creative economy development

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine will propose to create a council for the creative economy development at the Cabinet of Ministers.

“[We propose to] launch a council for the creative economy development at the Cabinet of Ministers. We believe that the creation of such a platform will be a major step in raising the profile and communicating with industry. It will allow working out proposals in order to solve problematic issues and stimulate the development of spheres, to establish a direct dialogue with the government and business," Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko said during the second meeting of the public discussion of the draft National Economic Strategy of Ukraine until 2030 entitled "Support for creative industries and hospitality industry", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, it is planned to create an office for the development of creative industries - a government agency that will support the creative industries in Ukraine and abroad, provide investment, information, consulting services to people who already do business in this area or plan to.

The minister added that the Government intends to draft a strategy for the development of creative industries, involve international partners in this process, and take into account the relevant study of the impact of creative industries on the economy.

The National Economic Strategy of Ukraine until 2030 is being drafted by a working group of the Cabinet of Ministers on the platform of the Center for Economic Recovery. Discussions on the draft National Economic Strategy of Ukraine until 2030 began on January 22 and will last until February 10.
