Transparent system of governance in public sector to help reduce corruption - economy ministry

The Ministry for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine will continue to reform corporate governance in state-owned enterprises in accordance with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the ministry's press service has reported.

In 2020, the reform was implemented in Ukraine's 15 largest state-owned companies: Naftogaz of Ukraine, Ukrzaliznytsia, State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine, Ukrhydroenergo, Ukrenergo, Ukrposhta, Ukroboronprom, Energoatom, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, Boryspil International Airport, Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE), Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine, JSC Roads of Ukraine, Ukraina Printing House, JSC Agrarian Fund.

"Creating a transparent and effective system of governance in the public sector will help reduce corruption and increase Ukraine's competitiveness in global markets," said Svitlana Panaiotidi, Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises are recommendations addressed by governments to multinational enterprises operating in or from adhering countries. They provide non-binding principles and standards for responsible business conduct in a global context consistent with applicable laws and internationally recognized standards.
