Minister Kryklii: About half of flights will resume next year

About half of flights may resume next year.

"Next year, about half [of flights] will resume. We expect a recovery to 2019 levels only in 2023," Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii said on the air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

According to him, the flights will be gradually resumed in the next three years. At the same time, the minister expressed hope that the signing of the Common Aviation Area Agreement between Ukraine and the EU could help speed up the resumption of flights.

"We expect to sign the Common Aviation Area Agreement with Europe in the first quarter of 2021. I wish we could sign it symbolically at the end of 2020 or early January 2021, but the Brexit, which it is tied to, has delayed," Kryklii noted.

In 2021, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine will continue to modernize regional airports. In particular, UAH 2.4 billion from the state budget will be allocated for this purpose.
