Zelensky signs law on functioning of state agrarian register

President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed the law on the functioning of the State Agrarian Register, which will simplify the provision of targeted state support for agricultural producers, the president’s press service reports.

According to the law, the State Agrarian Register is maintained at the expense of the state budget by voluntary introduction of reliable information by agricultural producers.

The law also expands the range of potential recipients of state support. In particular, the support will be provided to the enterprises engaged in aquaculture, organic production, irrigation, and vegetables, fruits and berries production.

In addition, the state support will be introduced for farmers affected by emergencies of technogenic and natural character.

As reported by Ukrinform, on November 5, the Verkhovna Rada approved the Law “On amending the Law of Ukraine ‘On state support of agriculture of Ukraine’ and other laws of Ukraine on the functioning of the State Agrarian Register and improvement of state support of agricultural producers” (No.985-IX).
