EU mission on ‘industrial visa-free regime’ launched in Ukraine

The work of the preliminary assessment mission of the EU regarding Ukraine's readiness to conclude an Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA) has begun, according to the press service of the Ministry of Economy Ukraine.

"On October 29, during an online meeting of Ukraine’s Trade Representative Taras Kachka with representatives of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, the Directorate General of the European Commission for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, an agreement was reached on the start of the EU’s preliminary assessment mission regarding the readiness of the quality infrastructure of Ukraine for an Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products  (ACAA, “industrial visa-free regime”)," the report says.

In order to support and develop the export of Ukrainian products, the Ministry of Economy is taking measures to conclude the ACAA, which is one of the priorities of the President of Ukraine and the Government in relations with the EU. The agreement provides for the opening of access for industrial products to the markets of Ukraine and EU countries on the basis of mutual recognition of the results of work on conformity assessment for industrial products.

Also, the ACAA opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian business and attracting new investments in the development of the Ukrainian economy.
