Venediktova meets with representatives of ACC in Ukraine

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova has held a meeting with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ACC), the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) reports.

"Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova met with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine. Participants of the meeting discussed the current state of affairs, which show signs of illegal pressure on business, including on the part of law enforcement agencies, and ways to address this issue to improve the investment climate in the country,” reads the report.

The Prosecutor General stressed that the Department of Criminal Law Policy and Investment Protection is currently studying the materials of such proceedings to make decisions on further action.

"It is important for us, because a country without investors, without business is not able to fulfill its social guarantees. Support and protection of investments is one of the state priorities, and we will do our best to ensure this priority. Once again, we are prosecutors, not lawyers, so if business violates the law, we must respond accordingly. If the law enforcement system is to blame for interfering in business, we will correct these mistakes,” Venediktova stated.

ACC President Andy Hunder thanked for the regular meetings and the opportunity for an open dialogue.
