Government allocates UAH 37M for roads and bridges in Zakarpattia region

The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated UAH 37 million for bank protection, roads and bridges in Zakarpattia region.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

"An additional UAH 37 million was allocated for the repair of local roads, river bank protection, and restoration of bridges and bridge crossings in Zakarpattia region. In the summer, floods significantly damaged the infrastructure of four western regions of Ukraine, which still needs to be restored," Shmyhal wrote.

In addition, the PM instructed to speed up the work on allocating funds for Kharkiv region, where more than 20 houses had been burned down.

As reported, heavy rains between June 22-24 caused floods in Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Lviv, Zakarpattia, and Ternopil regions. Three people were killed in floods and one more went missing. Hundreds of kilometers of roads, dozens of bridges were destroyed, and hundreds of people were resettled.

In July, the Government allocated UAH 30 million to Zakarpattia region from the state budget reserve fund to eliminate the consequences of the June flood.

Large-scale fires broke out in Kharkiv region in early September this year.
