Ukrainian farmers gather over 60.5 mln tonnes of main crops

As of October 15, Ukrainian farmers harvested 60.5 million tonnes of main crops from an area of 19.5 million hectares.

In particular, 45.7 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops were threshed from an area of 12.06 million hectares (78% of the forecast), the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade, and Agriculture of Ukraine posted on Facebook.

In particular, Ukrainian farmers gathered 230.6 thousand tonnes of millet from 143.7 thousand hectares (96% of the forecast); 92.1 thousand tonnes of buckwheat from 73 thousand hectares (93%); 10.5 million tonnes of sunflower from 5.4 million hectares (84%); 1.8 million tonnes of soybeans from 917.1 thousand hectares (68%); and 10 million tonnes of corn from 2.2 million hectares (22%).

In addition, 2 million tonnes of sugar beets were gathered from an area of 46.9 thousand hectares (22% of the forecast).

The following Ukrainian regions have the biggest gross output so far: Kharkiv region (5.5 million tonnes), Dnipropetrovsk region (4.4 million tonnes), Vinnytsia region (4.2 million tonnes), Poltava region (4.2 million tonnes).
