PM Shmyhal: Ukraine aims to create competitive conditions for business and investment

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has stated that Ukraine needs to create competitive conditions for business and investment.

He said this at the second meeting of the working group on the development of the National Economic Strategy until 2030, Ukrinform reports referring to the Government portal.

"Ukraine should become the most attractive country for economic opportunities for investment, innovation, doing business, as well as the best place to realize creative potential, develop and implement ideas. It is necessary to create competitive conditions for business and investment and restore confidence in the state. We must also win competition for capital on the international market and stimulate the development of innovation and modernization of economic sectors to ensure their competitiveness in the international market. And we also should promote the development of human potential and win the competition for talent,” said Shmyhal.

At the meeting, officials also considered the vision of the strategy and the technical task for working out certain directions of the strategy by expert groups working on the platform of the Economic Recovery Center.

As reported, the process of creating the National Economic Strategy was initiated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian business. Officials identified seven vectors of Ukraine's development that will form the basis for strategy development. These include incentives for industry, the agricultural sector, mining sector, transport corridors, incentives for IT and R&D, infrastructure and domestic transport, and the energy sector.

The initiatives set out in the strategy will be included in the state target programs.
