Ukraine hopes to revise economic part of Association Agreement with EU – Petrashko

Ukraine hopes to revise the economic part of the Association Agreement with the European Union to increase the volume of trade, Ukrainian Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture Ihor Petrashko has said.

"I am a staunch supporter of the European association, especially now, in times of economic blocs. The economic bloc with the European Union is extremely important. We will revise it in order to increase the volume of trade in the vast majority of items," Petrashko said in an interview with the Ekonomichna Pravda online media outlet, the Government portal reported.

According to him, five years have passed since the signing of the Association Agreement, five years of the so-called stand still, when the conditions were not revised. So now it's a normal process, a review, the discussion begins.

"Many European companies are already operating in Ukraine, and they want and understand that it is better for them to have a platform here, and they are already interested in free trade. So we already have our allies," the minister noted.

He added that representatives of European companies are interested in Ukraine.
