Wizz Air cuts flights from Kharkiv due to coronavirus

The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has changed its flight schedule from the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv due to COVID-19.

“Wizz Air has optimized its flight program from Kharkiv due to restrictions on the entry of certain categories of citizens into EU countries,” said Alina Pecherytsia, head of the press service of Kharkiv International Airport.

According to her, the airline suspended several flights, namely from Kharkiv to Krakow until October 28; to Milan until November 3; to Vienna, Berlin and Dortmund until December 4; to Katowice until March 29, 2021; and to Tallinn and Budapest until March 30, 2021.

"According to the preliminary schedule, flights to Gdansk and Wroclaw continue to operate," she added.

In total, Wizz Air has 86 routes from Ukraine to 15 European countries and one to the Middle East, including 36 flights from Kyiv, 21 from Lviv, 11 from Kharkiv, 11 from Odesa, and eight from Zaporizhzhia.
