Average salary in August grows by 8.6% – State Statistics Service

The average nominal salary of Ukrainians in August 2020 was 8.6% higher than in August 2019 and amounted to UAH 11,446, the State Statistics Service has reported.

The average nominal nominal salary of Ukrainians in August 2020 was 2.4 times higher than the minimum wage (UAH 4,723). Compared to July 2020, the average nominal salary decreased by 3.0%.

The highest average nominal salary in the last month was recorded in the field of financial and insurance activities - UAH 19,700 (6.6% more than in August 2019), the information and telecommunications industry (UAH 19,827, up 15%), and public administration and defense; compulsory social insurance (UAH 16,802, up 4%).

The lowest average nominal salary in August 2020 was recorded in the areas of temporary accommodation and catering (UAH 6,224, 11.3% less than in August 2019), education (UAH 8,218, up 11.8%), and health care and social assistance (UAH 8,490, up 20.1%).

As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, the average nominal salary in Ukraine in August 2019 amounted to UAH 10,537, which is 17.4% higher than in August 2018.
