Fedorov: More funds for cybersecurity should be projected in state budget

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov has said that Ukraine needs to invest more funds in the cybersecurity education.

"We need to invest in education and science in the cyber sector. We have studied international experience. For example, Norway, Denmark, Estonia spends from the general budget 1 to 4% of GDP on digital transformation, which also includes cybersecurity. In our country the budget, which has already been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, envisages 0.15% for this. It is too low for such a sector, priority areas of the digital economy,” Fedorov said at a ZOOM conference on the digital transformation of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

The deputy prime minister has added that the Digital Transformation Ministry is developing a cybersecurity monitoring center that will be based at the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection.
