Ukrainian farmers already gathered 36M tonnes of grain - Economy Ministry

As of September 17, Ukraine harvested 43.2 million tonnes of main crops, including almost 36 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops from an area of ​​9.8 million hectares, or 64% of the forecast.

The Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture reported this with a reference to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

"As of September 17, Ukrainian farmers harvested 43.2 million tonnes of main crops from an area of ​​13.6 million hectares, including almost 36 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops from an area of ​​9.8 million hectares (64%),” reads the report.

In particular, Ukrainian farmers threshed 25.1 million tonnes of wheat from an area of 6.6 million hectares; 7.8 million tonnes of barley from 2.4 million hectares; 516.2 thousand tonnes of peas from 238 thousand hectares; 2.56 million tonnes of rapeseed from 1.1 million hectares; 155 thousand tonnes of millet from 87.3 thousand hectares (58% of the projected area); 61.6 thousand tonnes of buckwheat from 42.8 thousand hectares (55%); 4.07 million tonnes of sunflower from 2.3 million hectares (36%); 596.5 thousand tonnes of soybeans  from 290.2 thousand hectares (22%); and 668 thousand tonnes of corn from 137.2 thousand hectares (3%).
