European ‘green’ course to stimulate Ukraine for reforming its energy system - Buslavets

The European "green" course is an incentive for Ukraine to reform its energy system and become stronger as a state.

Acting Energy Minister of Ukraine Olha Buslavets stated this during the 11th European-Ukrainian Energy Day, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Challenges may appear during the implementation of the European ‘green’ course, which are caused by complex problems in the energy sector and the systemic crisis in the economy due to the pandemic. We are doing a lot to minimize these crisis developments," said Buslavets.

According to her, the ‘green’ course is an incentive for Ukraine to become stronger as a state.

“While implementing this course, it is important to ensure security, stable operation of the energy system through quality reform. In this context, it is necessary to determine Ukraine's efforts to systematically implement measures to improve energy efficiency and renewable energy development," said Buslavets.

She stressed that energy efficiency is the key to climate neutrality, as well as reducing resource consumption.

"The Energy Ministry has developed a national energy efficiency plan until 2030. It really envisages very ambitious goals for our country. This plan has certain indicators for implementation in 2021, 2025, 2030," Buslavets added.
