Ukraine's draft budget for 2021 to be tabled in parliament on Sept 15 - Shmyhal

Ukraine's draft state budget for 2021 will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada on September 15, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.

He said this at a briefing on September 10 as part of his working trip to Kherson.

"On September 15, as required by law, the Ministry of Finance will submit the draft budget for 2021 to the Verkhovna Rada. There are basic parameters, and they are being finalized, discussed today. We will present them on September 15," Shmyhal said.

He added that the draft budget provides for 4.7% growth in GDP, the planned budget deficit at up to 6%, and the exchange rate at up to UAH 29 per U.S. dollar.

Shmyhal expressed confidence that this year the draft state budget for 2021 will be adopted on time.

According to the Budget Code of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers approves and submits a draft law on the state budget for next year to the parliament by September 15.
