Ukraine’s air traffic falls 56% in August - UkSATSE

The air traffic in Ukraine dropped by 56.3% in August 2020 compared to the relevant period last year, according to the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE).

"In August 2020, UkSATSE provided air navigation services for 16,690 flights in total, which is 56.3% less than in August 2019,” reads a report posted on UkSATSE website.

Ukrainian airlines performed 6,373 flights (45.5% less than in August 2019), foreign airlines - 10,317 flights (61.1% less).

"Air traffic distribution by flight types in August was as follows: 2,519 domestic flights (15.7% less), 8,249 international flights (-50.4%), 5,922 transit flights (-68.2%),” reads the report.

UkSATSE reminds that Ukraine has imposed temporary restrictions on the entry of foreign nationals to Ukraine from August 28 until September 28. In this regard, the dynamics of the gradual recovery of air traffic in Ukraine, which was observed in previous months, is expected to slow down significantly in September.
