Westinghouse considers expanding cooperation with Ukraine's Atomenergomash

Westinghouse sees Separate Subdivision Atomenergomash, part of Ukraine's National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Energoatom, not only as a partner in the production of individual elements of Westinghouse fuel assemblies for Ukrainian NPPs, but also considers expanding such cooperation to meet the needs of customers outside Ukraine, Energoatom's press service has reported, with reference to Aziz Dag, Managing Director at Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB.

Dag clarified that Westinghouse was currently cooperating with Atomenergomash in the production of individual elements for Westinghouse fuel assemblies, which will be supplied to Ukrainian NPPs.

"We have already established a stable partnership with this subdivision of Energoatom. We see prospects not only in the production by Atomenergomash of individual components for Westinghouse fuel assemblies manufactured for Ukrainian nuclear power plants, but also in the expansion of such cooperation to meet the needs of customers outside Ukraine. The possibility of expanding the range of fuel assembly elements that Atomenergomash can produce for Westinghouse is also being discussed," he added.
