Ukraine has harvested almost 33M tonnes of grain already

As of August 6, Ukraine harvested almost 33 million tonnes of grain and legumes.

“As of August 6, Ukrainian farmers have already harvested almost 33 million tonnes of grain crops and legumes from an area of 8.5 million hectares (56% of the forecast),” the informational and analytical portal of Ukraine’s agro-industrial complex informs.

In particular, Ukrainian farmers have already threshed 23.1 million tonnes of wheat from an area of 5.8 million hectares (87%); 7.9 million tonnes of barley from an area of 2.1 million hectares (90%); 476,000 tonnes of peas from an area of 216,000 hectares (93%) and 2.2 million tonnes of rapeseed from an area of 1 million hectares (91%).

The following Ukrainian regions have the biggest gross output so far: Kharkiv region (3.7 million tonnes from an area of 728,000 hectares), Zaporizhzhia region (3.6 million tonnes from an area of 1.1 million hectares), Dnipropetrovsk region (3.4 million tonnes from an area of 928,000 hectares), and Mykolaiv region (2.5 million tonnes from an area of 868,000 hectares).

At year-end 2019, Ukraine harvested a record crop of grains and legumes totaling 75.08 million tonnes.
