PM Shmyhal expects about USD 1B in budget revenues from large privatization

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has announced positive expectations from large-scale privatization in the coming years.

"We have positive expectations from large-scale privatization, which should provide about USD 1 billion in budget revenues in the coming years," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He noted that the Government plans to take a decision on improving the process of inventorying the property of state-owned enterprises that are prepared for privatization. Objective information about their state will be compiled prior to sale.

As Ukrinform reported, at the end of March, it became known that the Ukrainian State Property Fund will not put large privatization facilities and state-owned enterprises on sale amid the global economic turbulence caused by the COVID-19 epidemic.

In mid-February, State Property Fund Head Dmytro Sennychenko announced that the Fund was planning to sell more than 500 enterprises in 2020.
