Ukraine’s egg production decreased by 0.7% - State Statistics Service

Ukraine’s production of eggs declined by 0.7% between January-June 2020, to 8.54 billion eggs, according to the press service of the State Statistics Service.

In particular, Ukraine’s egg production amounted to 8.54 billion, including 461 billion eggs produced by agricultural enterprises (down 0.5% from last year) and 3.93 billion by private households (down 0.8%).

The highest amount of egg production over the reporting period were recorded in the Kyiv region – 1.71 billion eggs (up 4.7% from last year); Khmelnytskyi region – 489.3 million (down 10.4%) and Donetsk region – 486.8 million (down 18.7%).

The lowest amount of egg production over the reporting period were recorded in the Luhansk region – 40.6 million eggs (down 6.7% from last year); Odesa region – 108.0 million (down 16.3%), and Mykolaiv region – 108.7 million (down 22.2%).

As reported, according to data provided by the State Statistics Service, Ukraine’s egg production totalled 8.60 billion eggs between January-June 2019, which is 5.0% more than in the same period last year.
