Average salary grows 3% in Ukraine – State Statistics Service

In May 2020, the average nominal salary in Ukraine amounted to UAH 10,542, which is 3% higher compared with May 2019, according to the State Statistics Service.

"The average nominal salary of a full-time employee of enterprises, institutions and organizations made up UAH 10,542 in May 2020, which is 2.2 times higher than the minimum wage (UAH 4,723). The average nominal salary increased by 1.1% compared with April and rose by 3.0% over the last 12 months (compared to May 2019),” reads the report.

The highest average nominal salaries in May were recorded in the financial and insurance sector – UAH 18,832 (down 0.3% year-on-year), in the information and telecommunications sector – UAH 18,339 (up 7.1%), in the sector of professional, scientific and technical activities– UAH 15,610 (up 14.1%),

The lowest average nominal salaries in May were recorded in the temporary accommodation and catering sector - UAH 3,851 (down 43.1% from May 2019), in the healthcare and social assistance sector - UAH 7,645 (up 10.6%), and in the art, sports, entertainment and recreation sector - UAH 7,121 (down 13.1%).

As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, the average nominal salary in May 2019 amounted to UAH 10,239, which is 17.4% higher than in May 2018.
