Ukrainian banks open 89% of their branches - NBU

Ukrainian banks have already opened 89% of their branches, although their share was 75% at the beginning of May, the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has reported on Facebook.

"Banks, along with the whole country, are gradually returning to normal life. The banking infrastructure is resuming its activity, more bank branches are starting to operate normally, ATMs access to which was limited, in particular, in shopping malls, are ready to service customers again. While the share of opened branches of banks was 75% at the beginning of May, today this figure has increased to 89%," the report reads.

Among the largest banks, Oschadbank has resumed the smooth operation of 93% of its branches and 98% of ATMs, PrivatBank - almost 74% of branches and 97% of ATMs, Raiffeisen Bank Aval - 99.8% of branches and 98% of ATMs, Ukrsibbank - 99% of branches and 99% of ATMs, Ukrgasbank - 100% of branches and 98% of ATMs, Alfa-Bank Ukraine - 99% of branches and 99% of ATMs, First Ukrainian International Bank - almost 98% of branches and 98% of ATMs.

The NBU said that banks continued to care about customer safety. Additional breaks for disinfection and ventilation of the premises remain in place.

Some banks receive customers by appointment. This helps service visitors quickly and without queues.

Bank branches in the regions where the incidence of COVID-19 remains high continue to operate at reduced hours.
