Economy Ministry, entrepreneurs discuss steps to restore and develop industry

Ukrainian Economy, Trade and Agriculture Minister Ihor Petrashko and relevant associations have discussed steps to restore and develop the industry.

The Economy, Trade and Agriculture Development Ministry’s press service reported this on Facebook following a consultative working meeting with representatives of national associations of industrialists, entrepreneurs and trade unions.

"Ukrainian industry produces almost 16% of GDP while having much greater potential. To restore and strengthen the promising areas of this sector, our main task is to create clear and understandable rules of the game for all participants," Petrashko said.

The key topics of the meeting were the discussion of the need to appoint a separate specialized deputy minister for industrial development, the restoration of the coordination council on industrial policy issues, and the development of an effective sector.

In addition, it is important to have a strategic vision, that is, special support for those areas of the economy that will be in demand in 20 or more years.

The meeting participants expressed their suggestions and agreed to maintain a dialogue to find joint solutions to certain issues.
