Ukraine exports fish products for over $1 mln in Jan-Feb

Ukraine delivered 437 tonnes of ready-to-eat and canned fish to foreign markets in the first two months of this year for more than $1 million, Ukraine's State Fisheries Agency has reported, with reference to the State Statistics Service.

"During January-February 2020, our country supplied 437 tonnes of ready-to-eat and canned fish to foreign markets for $1.06 million," the report reads.

The largest importers (in monetary terms) were Moldova (100 tonnes for $214,300), Georgia (119 tonnes for $154,200), Belarus (62 tonnes for $131,500), Azerbaijan (103 tonnes for $121,500), and the United States (23 tonnes for $120,400). These countries account for 70% of Ukraine's exports of ready-to-eat and canned fish.

Significant deliveries of Ukrainian fish were also made to Germany, Estonia, Latvia, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates.

Ukraine exported fish and crustaceans for $3.998 million in January-February 2020.
