Ukraine’s import of buckwheat grew 6.5 times in Q1 2020

Ukraine’s buckwheat imports reached UAH 115 million in January-March 2020, which is 6.5 times more than in the relevant period of 2019, according to the State Customs Service.

“Ukraine imported buckwheat worth UAH 115 million ($ 4.6 million) in the first quarter of 2020, which is 6.5 times more than in the relevant period last year. At the same time, buckwheat exports have significantly decreased, which means its stocks will be enough for everyone,” the State Customs Service wrote on its Facebook page.

It notes that the State Customs Service has updated the online portal on import and export transactions and last week opened statistics on trade with Ukraine to first four digits of the Ukrainian Classification of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity (UCG FEA). Import or export of a specific product is now easy to track. The updated portal now provides data over the period of 2017 - Q1 2020: imports, exports, balances, taxed imports, customs receipts, tax burden per unit of currency selected, etc., data in hryvnia and U.S. dollar.
