Government to attract $135 mln for healthcare improvement project

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine takes out a $135 million loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development to finance the healthcare project.

The relevant decree No.382-r of April 6 was published on the Government portal.

"To deem it expedient to take out a $135 million loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the implementation of the investment project ‘Additional Financing of the Project ‘Serving People, Improving Health Project’,” the decree’s wording reads.

On April 3, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with representatives of international organizations.

It was announced after the meeting that the World Bank was ready to allocate additional funds to Ukraine as part of a joint project with the Health Ministry “Serving People, Improving Health Project.” The Government had to prepare the decisions that would allow attracting an additional $35 million to support the Ukrainian healthcare sector. The total budget of the project is $135 million.
