8 MW solar power plant to be built in Kharkiv region

A solar power plant with a capacity of 8 MW will be built in Kharkiv region this year, the press service of Kharkiv Regional State Administration reports.

According to the report, an 8 MW solar power plant will be built in the village of Birky, Kharkiv region. It will be the most powerful solar power plant in the region, which will provide electricity to more than 700 households.

At present, three solar power plants are operating in the region: one plant in the town of Merefa and another two in the village of Birky.

According to Chairman of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleksiy Kucher, these projects are implemented in the region at the expense of an internal investor. “Three operating solar power plants represent more than USD 9 million of investments and more than 10 MW of electricity,” Kucher said.
