Silpo allocates UAH 100 mln to fight coronavirus outbreak

The Ukrainian national supermarket chain Silpo has allocated UAH 100 million to purchase equipment for hospitals and protective equipment for healthcare workers, the company’s press service reports.

"The national supermarket chain Silpo has allocated UAH 100 million for the purchase of equipment for hospitals and personal protective equipment for healthcare workers," the report says.

Silpo Retail Director Oleksandr Priadukhin said that responsible business cannot stay on the sidelines, because it understands the urgent needs of Ukraine. “More than UAH 13 million has already been spent on the purchase of 12 high-quality Swiss-made Hamilton medical ventilators. After arriving in Ukraine, these devices will be distributed among hospitals in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions," he said.

As of 10:00 on April 1, Ukraine had 669 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 17 deaths. Ten patients recovered.
