Finance Ministry replenishes budget with $71.6 mln from government bonds’ sale
The Ukrainian Finance Ministry attracted USD 71.6 million or UAH 1.900 billion to the state budget as a result of the sale of government domestic loan bonds on March 17, 2020, the Finance Ministry’s press service reported.
"On March 17, 2020, the Finance Ministry offered investors ten-month U.S. dollar-denominated government bonds. At the auction, USD 71.6 million or UAH 1,900 million were raised to finance the state budget. The average weighted yield on bonds was 3.5%,” reads the statement.
The ministry noted that after a short break, following consultations with banks-primary dealers, the Finance Ministry found the tools to successfully place domestic government bonds at acceptable yields to replenish the state budget.
"The Finance Ministry has enabled banks and their clients to place their free foreign currency liquidity in a reliable and profitable instrument," reads the statement.
