State Service of Geology and Subsoil outlines its activity priorities

The State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine will focus on three areas of activity: combating corruption and restoring confidence, making effective use of subsoil, and offering facilities for investment.

"65% of applications sent to the Service in 2019 were rejected. Half of them were rejected two or more times. With that in mind, we focused on three areas: overcoming corruption and restoring confidence, making effective use of subsoil, offering facilities for investment," Chairman of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine Roman Opimakh said during the presentation of the 2019 activity at the Ukrinform news agency.

In his opinion, this will result in levelling of subjectivity and selectivity in the work of the Service, awakening of "dormant" licenses and removing of artificial barriers in the legislation, attracting investments in the development of Ukrainian subsoil.

"In 2019, the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine granted 124 special permits, 35 of which were sold through electronic auctions. The budget revenues from the sale of permits through electronic auctions were UAH 503.9 million. The total planned budget revenues for 2020 are UAH 750 million," Opimakh said.
