Ukrzaliznytsia, Deutsche Bahn sign memorandum

Ukrzaliznytsia and Deutsche Bahn have signed a memorandum of understanding.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, the signing ceremony took place at the Cabinet of Ministers during a meeting between the Ukrainian delegation headed by Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk and the Deutsche Bahn delegation headed by Deutsche Bahn Board Member for Infrastructure Ronald Pofalla.

The memorandum was signed by Acting CEO of Ukrzaliznytsia Zeljko Marcek, Ukrzaliznytsia Board Member Remigiusz Paszkiewicz, Deutsche Bahn Board Member Ronald Pofalla and Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors at DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH Niko Warbanoff.

"I hope that this [signing of the memorandum] will be the next step in building reliable cooperation between Ukrzaliznytsia and Deutsche Bahn," Honcharuk said before the signing ceremony.

During the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on January 22, in the presence of Honcharuk, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii signed an agreement of intent between the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry and Deutsche Bahn AG on further cooperation in the field of transport and development of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.
