Over 600 illegal filling stations already closed in Ukraine

Law enforcement authorities have terminated the activities of 631 illegal filling stations, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

“Within the proceedings on the illegal production, storage, sale of excisable goods and the violation of safety rules during the work involving heightened danger, the activities of 631 illegal filling satiations have already been terminated, 76 filling stations have stopped the work voluntarily,” reads the report.

It notes that the prosecutor’s office, together with law enforcement agencies, opened 343 criminal proceedings over the unlawful activities of illegal filling stations.

As reported, on December 9, 2019, Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk instructed the State Fiscal Service and law enforcement agencies to resolve the issue of shadow fuel turnover until January 9, 2020.
