PM Honcharuk: Youth mobility increase program starts in April

The program for increasing the mobility of Ukrainian youth will start in April this year with a particular focus on promoting travels across country’s regions.

“The Government creates conditions for youth to be socially active and independent. Over the past three years, nearly more than half of young people have not traveled outside the region they live in. We want to put an end to this situation. Mobility has a positive impact on both the economy and labor productivity,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk said, the Government portal reports.

He added that such a program would encourage awareness of the diversity of regions and the development of civil society organizations.

The legal framework and concepts of the youth mobility program will be elaborated at the first stage. The pilot projects between several regions of Ukraine will be launched starting from April.

"The program that will increase youth's autonomy, resilience and capacity will be fully operational by the end of the year," the statement reads.

The Government also reminds that youth mobility is one of the goals of the Cabinet of Ministers' Action Program approved in September 2019.
