NBU bought almost $565 mln in interbank market last week

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) purchased $564.6 million in the interbank foreign exchange market last week, the NBU’s press service has reported.

“In the period from December 16 to December 21, 2019, the National Bank bought $564.6 million. The Bank did not sell foreign currency during the reporting period,” reads the report.

A week earlier, from December 9 to December 13, the NBU purchased $424.1 million. The last operations on the sale of foreign currency were carried out on October 15-18 ($31 million).

Since the beginning of 2019, the volume of currency purchased by the National Bank has amounted to $6.9 billion, while sales amounted to $479.23 million.
